of sharing the gospel and answering some questions. 00:10:03.860 |
that you wanna bring to hear a formal presentation 00:10:07.860 |

So this is an eight-week course where we go over 00:10:19.860 |
the various doctrines of our church and ministry philosophy. 00:10:22.860 |

"'For a friend of mine has come to me from a journey 00:24:09.860 |
"'Do not bother me, the door has already been shut 00:24:18.860 |
"'and give him anything because he is his friend, 00:24:23.860 |
"'he will get up and give him as much as he needs. 00:24:26.860 |
"'So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you, 00:24:28.860 |
"'seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. 00:24:31.860 |
"'For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds, 00:24:37.860 |
"'Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish, 00:24:41.860 |

Gracious Father, we pray that the voice of Christ 00:25:14.860 |
but that we would hear your very living word, Lord God, 00:25:17.860 |
that it may judge the thoughts and intentions of our own heart. 00:25:37.860 |
and they see something about Jesus' ministry, 00:26:03.860 |
there's something about his relationship with God 00:26:07.860 |
and they asked Jesus, "Teach us how to pray." 00:26:09.860 |
And in response to that, we know the Lord's Prayer, 00:26:14.860 |
"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. 00:26:40.860 |
Devotion to prayer isn't just something that happens, 00:26:52.860 |
You don't just wait until you're inspired to pray. 00:26:58.860 |
whether it is hard in the morning or at night, 00:27:17.860 |
So if you're waiting for your natural inclination 00:27:47.860 |
Not that we are not commanded to pray together, 00:27:56.860 |
That you don't only pray for certain circumstances, 00:27:59.860 |
but that prayer has to be the very breath of our life. 00:28:21.860 |
and some miraculous things are going to happen. 00:28:38.860 |
Know that the throne of grace has been opened to us, 00:28:53.860 |
that we can summarize the Bible tells us to pray. 00:29:05.860 |
"You know, I didn't have much time to look at my Bible, 00:29:09.860 |
How many of you would sit here and pay attention? 00:29:18.860 |
I told you, "You know, I didn't have much time, 00:29:22.860 |
so I'm just going to see what the Lord has for us today." 00:29:25.860 |
And I just started speaking whatever I wanted to speak. 00:29:35.860 |
whether it is up in the pulpit or in the pews. 00:30:03.860 |
but you prayed consistently, you prayed passionately, 00:30:07.860 |
Most likely it was when you were desperate for something. 00:30:12.860 |
and you found that you have no other resource 00:30:19.860 |
Usually, when we get prayer requests from the church, 00:30:25.860 |
Something has happened. Somebody in your family is sick. 00:30:35.860 |
And so, by the time we get your prayer request, 00:30:39.860 |
there's something urgent happening in your life. 00:31:40.860 |
it's very difficult to pray with urgency and passion. 00:31:49.860 |
We're going out to missions and give us safety. 00:31:58.860 |
So the comfort and the safety that we're already enjoying, 00:32:42.860 |
John 15, 7, "If you abide in me, my words abide in you. 00:32:44.860 |
Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." 00:32:53.860 |
Because He said, "The Son of Man did not come 00:33:07.860 |
the urgency and passion is given to us by Him. 00:33:24.860 |
And so we may pray, but we're not exactly sure. 00:33:47.860 |
"I ask you, ask, and it will be given to you. 00:35:20.860 |
this is the confidence which we have before Him 00:35:56.860 |
I have a feeling that you're going to sit there 00:41:13.860 |
If Christ is at the door of a lukewarm church 00:44:43.860 |
I don't think you'd be as patient as this guy. 00:46:48.860 |
That this persistence is knocking on the door. 00:46:58.860 |
Because that's what God is saying here, right? 00:48:04.860 |
like, "Hey, I'm going to share the gospel with you." 00:48:40.860 |
Because I have adult children who live outside the house, 00:48:56.860 |
Usually, the children don't give kids to the parents, 00:49:04.860 |
because I want this to be your home at all times, 00:49:13.860 |
And whether it's 12 o'clock or 3 o'clock or 4 o'clock, 00:49:21.860 |
is if a loving father is telling his children, 00:49:29.860 |
In every other context, this is unacceptable. 00:49:38.860 |
But why would God give us this example and said, 00:49:42.860 |
"Even this guy who's annoyed will open the door." 00:49:45.860 |
How much more your Heavenly Father will open the door? 00:49:52.860 |
The only context that this would make any sense 00:50:03.860 |
Just ask me, whether it's 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock, 00:50:13.860 |
But if even who hears evil knows how to give good gifts, 00:50:20.860 |
if you ask Him, if you seek Him, if you knock, 00:50:24.860 |
how eagerly that even through a lukewarm church 00:50:57.860 |
As my Son, Jesus, can enter the throne of grace 00:51:10.860 |
Luke, in Matthew 6:26, "And look at the birds of the air 00:51:13.860 |
that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, 00:51:37.860 |
and I will surely give you nations as your inheritance, 00:51:39.860 |
and the very ends of the earth as your possession." 00:51:46.860 |
Things that you can't possibly do on your own. 00:51:48.860 |
It says, "Ask of me, and I will give you nations 00:51:53.860 |
Jeremiah 29.13, "You will seek me and find me 00:52:13.860 |
Like sometimes the way we live our Christian life 00:52:28.860 |
We haven't really exchanged our life with His new life. 00:52:49.860 |
this is the most important thing in your life, 00:52:52.860 |
and you pray passionately, urgently, diligently, 00:54:21.860 |
And the angel is trying to fight against him. 00:55:09.860 |
All his life, like, "Oh, why are you limping?" 00:56:21.860 |
But the primary thing that the church is to be 00:56:24.860 |
is a place where people come to wrestle with God. 00:56:49.860 |
He was waiting for Jacob to make up his mind. 00:57:51.860 |
He will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 00:57:59.860 |
know how to give good gifts to your children, 00:58:19.860 |
he's not talking to anything specific that they're doing. 00:59:57.860 |
You know why you and I needed to be sanctified? 01:00:28.860 |
cannot be in the presence of a Holy God and live. 01:04:39.860 |
"You're going to keep drinking of this water, 01:05:22.860 |
those are just the fruit of the Holy Spirit." 01:08:05.860 |
