we're starting to see it really catch up in lots of other countries as we export the American way of life all over the place. Like, if you go to Japan, the childhood obesity rate is, like, 5%. Here, it's, like, 5x that. Japan's a high-income country, but they have a completely different food system.
They have a completely different relationship with nature and respect for nature. It's a very different culture. So when America exports their food to other countries and the way that we live, the countries seem to be getting sicker. But we are uniquely one of the sickest countries in the world, because I feel like we are the epicenter of "technological progress," and we're moving away from nature at one of the fastest paces, I think, of any country.
And so because of that, we're sort of the leading edge of sickness, but we do see it happening all over the world.
