How My Back Injury Affected My Career

What does a day even look like for you to get ready for the game? My injuries were very unique because there was nerve damage, right? So to this day, my left leg does not work like my right leg. So I got to wear a brace in the game. But there's a whole lot of compensation.

My hips might get thrown off. I just had to be so on top of everything. I'm talking about beforehand. I used to be able to go out, stay up late, get four or five hours of sleep, eat whatever I wanted to, and go kill dudes. Now it's like I got to make sure I'm getting my sleep.

Got to make sure I'm eating right, hydrating, all these little things. And it gets to a point where it's like, is all this sacrifice worth going out on the court and not even feeling like I'm in my full potential? That desire and that passion in me, I know it's still what it was when I was the best player in the world for my age.

It's just that my body betrayed me and I got hurt.
