I could do the worst thing in the world and it could be exposed to the world. And I know I got people in my life that they would walk through that with me. They would still be associated with me. How was that for you? It was hard for a long time.
And if you work at what's hard for a long time, you can't change the way you hold it. You find out what you're worth to people when you can offer them nothing. That's a dangerous place to be. You know, you don't want to get there to have to realize who your friends are.
First of all, I had a lot of people stick by me. But in those moments, it's not the number of people, it's who. But I'll tell you what freed me. Trying to understand. I thought there would come a day when I was going to understand why somebody responded. But I just could never understand it.
And then I got to a point where I was like, I don't understand it anymore. I accept it. And it was freeing because I can't understand. There's a way where you can look at people leaving your life as the biggest blessing. Even if you're the cause of it because it created space for something new.
